Why teachers book us, year after year

A farm day that fits
the school calendar.

You have a bus, a budget, a class list and one shot at a good day out. We have been hosting school groups on this farm for years — the format is built around that.

01 — Curriculum

Lessons that land

The animals your class has only met in a textbook are standing right there. Learners see, touch and feed them while our team talks them through it.

  • Life Skills themes for Grade R–3
  • Natural Sciences & Technology for Grade 4–7
  • Talk adapted to your phase
02 — Logistics

A day that runs itself

Arrive, roll call, lesson, feeding, play, lunch, ride, home. Your group is kept moving so teachers can supervise instead of herd.

  • Programme for 50 to 300 learners
  • Playgrounds, castles and pedal karts
  • Everything within 500 m walking distance

Paperwork, sorted

One form captures your group, your date and your package — then builds a costed booking form you can hand to the principal.

  • Instant PDF quote on submit
  • Rules, ratios and risk notes in writing
  • Cash on arrival or EFT

The programme

Eight o'clock
to three.

A full school day, not a quick stop. Times shift with your bus and your age group — this is the shape of a standard weekday visit.

Meet the staff

Thirty animals.
One fence away.

Not a display case. A working farm with a petting zoo at its centre, so learners meet animals that are calm around children — and learn where food actually comes from.

An ostrich standing in the Highveld grass

Ostriches

The biggest bird on the farm, and always the loudest opinion.

A camel at Animal Farm

Camels

Tall enough to stop a Grade 2 conversation mid-sentence.

Goats gathered near the farm shed

Goats & sheep

Gentle enough for small hands, greedy enough to be entertaining.

A red Bonsmara-type cow in green grass

Cattle

A working herd, and the start of the milk-and-maize conversation.

Donkeys standing in a field

Donkeys

Long ears, louder opinions, endless patience with visitors.

Two horses standing together in a paddock

Horses

Meet them over the fence and feed them by hand.

A large tortoise on the grass

Tortoises

The slowest animal on the farm — and the hardest to leave.

A rabbit in the grass

Rabbits

Soft, quick, and a first lesson in caring for something small.

Also on the farm: pigs, ducks, chickens, geese, guinea fowl, springbok and emu. Feeding is allowed and encouraged — a packet of mealies is included in every learner's ticket.

Questions, answered

Before you book.

Ask André on WhatsApp
How many learners do we need to bring?

Weekday school groups need a minimum of 50 learners. On Saturdays and public holidays the minimum is 30 people per group, and those visits run from 9 am to 3 pm by appointment.

Which grades is the farm day best suited to?

We host ages 2 to 18, but the programme is built for primary school — Grade R through Grade 7. The animal talk and the way groups move around the farm are adapted to the age of your learners.

What teacher-to-learner ratio do you require?

Two adults for every 25 learners. Those adults can be teachers, parents or supervisors. Your school remains responsible for supervision and discipline for the whole visit.

Can learners bring their own lunch?

Yes. Own lunchboxes and cool drinks are welcome. Braai stands are available if you want to make a day of it, and the tuck shop can provide hotdogs and cold drinks if ordered in advance. Alcohol is only allowed by prior arrangement.

What happens if it rains?

If severe weather stops the visit completely, we agree on a new date and repeat your excursion free of charge. Travel costs remain for your own account. Cancellations need to reach us at least seven days before the visit.

How do we pay?

Cash on arrival after roll call, or EFT before the visit. Banking details are on the booking form and in your confirmation. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Can we add the tractor ride?

Yes, but it must be pre-booked. It costs R20 per person, carries 30 passengers per ride and takes about 30 minutes. Add it to the package selection on the booking form.

When are you open?

Weekdays by appointment for school groups. Saturdays and public holidays from 9 am to 3 pm by appointment. Closed on Sundays, Easter Friday and Christmas Day.
